Marble Flooring FAQs
Is marble good for flooring? Marble tile can make for stunning bathroom walls and flooring. If there is one thing that marble flooring has above all others, it is elegance. It immediately makes a room seem more upscale. There just is nothing that can duplicate real stone, because you can never have a repeat.
Does marble floor crack easily? Marble tiles are mostly durable and can withstand normal wear and tear. However, if you are supplied with poor quality marble, your marble floors will most likely crack and break with heavy traffic in no time. In some cases, the tiles already have hairline cracks before installation.
How long do marble floors last? 25 years Marble floors are considerably stronger than most types of flooring and they provide a touch of elegance to your home. With regular maintenance and a lot of TLC, marble floors can last up to 25 years. Some will last even longer given the right care and maintenance from a professional stone restoration service
Are marble floors slippery when wet? Polished marble is exceptionally smooth, making it a less than ideal option for flooring in high traffic areas, especially entryways and bathrooms that may see a lot of water because it can get extremely slippery when wet.
How often should marble floors be sealed? Marble is a fairly porous natural stone material that readily absorbs moisture, which means that it can be stained quite easily. But protecting marble against moisture intrusion, as well as against stains, is relatively easy: seal it when you install it, and maintain it by sealing it every year or so after that
Will baking soda damage to marble floor? The short answer is yes, you can use baking soda to clean marble countertops, flooring, fireplaces and similar pieces. And it can be more effective than warm water and a soft cloth alone. But it's a mildly abrasive alkaline.
